A romantic Art Deco-inspired engagement ring rich with symbolism, history, and heirloom craftsmanship.
The Papillon engagement ring is inspired by original 1920s filigree designs, featuring intricate openwork patterns of palm leaves, wheat motifs, and flowing scrolls that create an airy, lace-like silhouette. Delicate hand-finished detailing surrounds the center stone, while the elegant hexagonal setting gives the ring its refined vintage character.
At the center sits a brilliant 6mm round lab diamond—approximately .80 carats—framed within a geometric milgrain setting that reflects the balance of softness and structure found in early 20th-century jewelry design. Light passes beautifully through the open filigree gallery, adding depth, brilliance, and dimension from every angle.
Design Details
A vintage-inspired filigree engagement ring featuring a hexagonal milgrain center setting, intricate openwork shoulders, flowing scroll motifs, palm-inspired detailing, wheat elements, and a 6mm round lab diamond.
Symbolism
The open filigree design symbolizes growth, renewal, and enduring connection. Wheat motifs traditionally represent prosperity and abundance, while flowing scrollwork reflects continuity and lasting commitment—making Papillon a deeply meaningful engagement or heirloom ring.
Craftsmanship & Materials
The Papillon ring is created from an original 1920s steel hub hand-carved by a master engraver. That historic design is used to create a wax form before being cast, preserving the depth, texture, and intricate detail impossible to replicate through modern mass production.
All metal options are solid—never plated. We use solid 14k gold and sterling silver (925) so your jewelry keeps its beauty for years to come.
Made in small batches in our Harrisonburg, Virginia workshop using traditional jewelry-making techniques.

Diestruck vs. Cast
The way a ring is made directly impacts its strength, detail, and longevity.
Our cast pieces begin with a hand-carved master hub, where each detail is carefully sculpted by hand. From this original, molds are created to produce each piece—preserving the integrity and character of the design.
Our die struck pieces are formed by compressing solid metal under intense pressure using traditional tooling. This creates a denser, stronger ring with crisp detail and a refined finish.
The result is a piece that feels more substantial, holds its detail over time, and is made to be worn for a lifetime—and beyond.
Shipping & Production
Every piece is made to order, crafted specifically for you using traditional techniques and solid precious metals.
This approach ensures a higher level of quality and attention to detail, but also means production time is required before shipment.
Once your jewelry is complete, it will be carefully packaged and shipped to you.

Size Guide
Not sure of your ring size? We’ve made it easy.
You can use our printable sizing guide at home—click here to view and print your sizing guide.
For the most precise fit, we also recommend being sized by a local jeweler.
Please note that wider bands may fit more snugly than thinner rings. If you’re between sizes, we’re happy to help you choose the best option.
Diamond Selection
Our engagement rings feature carefully selected diamonds chosen for their balance of beauty, quality, and lasting value.
As a standard, we use diamonds in the G–H color range, offering a near-colorless appearance that looks bright and white in any setting. This ensures your diamond maintains a clean, luminous look without the premium of higher color grades.
We select diamonds with SI1 clarity, meaning any natural inclusions are minimal and typically not visible to the naked eye. This allows for exceptional brilliance while maintaining a more accessible price point.
Each diamond is chosen for its overall brilliance, fire, and visual performance—not just its grading. We prioritize stones that appear lively and radiant in real-world lighting, ensuring your ring looks as stunning in everyday wear as it does in the showcase.
Depending on the design, diamonds may be natural or lab-grown, always clearly specified in the product details. Both options are selected to meet our strict standards for beauty and craftsmanship.
